"This was such a clever and enchanting show. One of the best kids shows I've seen (and we've been to a lot!)."

Bursary Artists

In April 2006 Theatre-Rites advertised bursary opportunities for black or minority ethnic visual artists and/or choreographers.  This scheme ran until April 2009 and we were delighted to work with four wonderful artists, each attached to a different project :

MeiMei (Wu Yanmei), a Chinese fan and ribbon dancer, a choreographer and Zheng player (Chinese zither). Mei Mei was attached to Lighten Up as a performer.

Adjjima Na Patalung, visual artist, director and producer originally from Thailand.  Adjjima was attached to Lighten Up and Salt as Assistant Director.

Saju Hari, dancer and choreographer was attached to a National Studio research and development project.

Machiko Hombu, designer was attached to Hang On.
